The Silver Award is the highest award that a Cadette girl scout can receive.  It is a very distinguished honor.  It recognizes your efforts in a range of Girl Scout and community experiences as well as your commitment to working to better your life and the lives of others.  Requirements of the award ask you to build your skills, explore career possibilities, increase your leadership skills, and make a commitment to improving yourself.  In addition to the requirements for leadership the girls completed a community service project.

The Girl Scout Silver Award Project our troop worked on with cooperation from Scottsville Fire Prevention, Scottsville Scouting and RIT School of Fine Arts and Imaging Science, was a short video presentation to promote fire safety with K-3 students in our community. Working with puppets, drawing story boards, doing research, writing scripts and being the puppeteers, our scouts produced three shorts. All three shorts videos are available on line at www.scottsvillescouting.org/firesafe as well as the Scottsville free library, local daycare centers and the elementary school.
